CAERWYS 2
YSCEIFIOG 4
FLINTSHIRE Summer League bragging rights belong to Ysceifiog on a penalty-laden night at Caerwys.
Caerwys gave as good as they got in the early stages and it was fairly even until the first goal.
Tim Hughes grabbed the lead for Ysceifiog with a well-worked goal and the visitors doubled their advantage from the spot.
A low driven cross bounced up onto the hand of Caerwys man of the match Andy Price and Danny Jones successfully put away the spot kick.
Back came Caerwys, though and they were right back in it after Nick Voyle struck the woodwork and Liam Vaughan volleyed in the rebound.
Ysceifiog weren’t to be denied as Tim Hughes’ second made it 3-1 and Tom Carney wrapped up the points with a good effort.
Caerwys ended the game on top and they reduced the deficit when Joe Griffith scored his side’s second from the spot.
Within five minutes the hosts were awarded another penalty, but Nick Voyle’s scuffed effort posed no threat!
