A MAN has admitted a charge of causing death by careless driving.

It follows the death of a motorcyclist on the A550 at Tinkersdale in Hawarden on September 26 last year.

At Mold Crown Court on Friday Philip Delduca, 41, of Bilberry Close, Penyffordd near Mold, admitted causing the death of Russell James Green by driving a Vauxhall Zafira without due care and attention.

He had elected to be tried in the crown court at an earlier hearing before Flintshire magistrates.

Judge Niclas Parry bailed him pending sentence.

“You had the good sense to plead guilty in this extremely sad case,” the judge told him.

“By your plea, you will at least have saved some additional distress to the family of the deceased.

“But it is only right that before you are sentenced the court should know as much as it can about you.”

He ordered a pre-sentence report from the probation service and he will be sentenced in May.

Details of the prosecution case were not opened at this stage.

Motorcyclist Mr Green, 45, died as a result of the crash, at about 2.10pm on September 26.

The crash involved a grey Vauxhall Zafira car, his orange Triumph Triple 675cc motorcycle and another vehicle.

Mr Green suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

He left wife Jane and four children – Jayne, Sophie, Charlotte and Thomas – step-daughter Daisy, mother Joan, brother Richard and sister Christine.

In a statement at the time, the family, from Leighton Road, Neston, said he had died doing what he loved and was “adored by all his family and friends”.
