THE line-up has been announced for the Maes B stages at this year’s National Eisteddfod.

The event, which takes place in Wrexham from July 30 to August 6, will offer a mix of music on two stages at Glyndwr University campus.

Maes B plays a key role in the Welsh language music calendar, with this year’s line-up expected to attract fans nationwide.

Y Niwl will open the festival on July 30, performing in Wrexham before rejoining Gruff Rhys on his international tour. Dau Cefn, Yucatan and Land of Bingo will also perform in the Students Union.

The Maes B Battle of the Bands competition will take place on the Monday and Tuesday evenings, with a final night Maes B stage slot up for grabs.

Cyfoes, who came third in the competition at last year’s Eisteddfod, will also perform on the Monday evening, with Breichiau Hir appearing on Tuesday.

From Wednesday night onwards, acts including Meic Stevens, Lleuwen and Gildas will play the Students Union, with Elin Fflur, Al Lewis Band and Yr Angen at William Aston Hall.

Yr Ods, Y Bandana and Y Trydan will be in William Aston Hall on Thursday night, with Plant Duw, Jen Jeniro and Sensegur at the Students Union.

The weekend begins with Acid Casuals’ DJ set in the Union with Plyci, Crash Disco!, Cloud4Mations and DJs Electroneg 1000 on Friday night and Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog, Gai Toms and Catrin Herbert in William Aston Hall.

The event will conclude with Sibrydion, Masters in France and Violas in William Aston Hall and Colorama, Huw M and Trwbador in the Students Union.
