A YOUNG woman who was killed in a collision at the weekend has been named.

Charlotte Churchill, 19, died instantly after the Nissan Micra she was travelling in crashed on the A541 at Hendre on Saturday night.

The young nursery worker, from Wallasey, is understood to have been returning home from a visit to North Wales when the collision occurred shortly before 10pm.

The two other occupants of the car sustained minor injuries.

A funeral celebrating her life is due to be held on the Wirral next week.

Charlotte’s popularity was such that 4,000 people had already joined the group R.I.P. Charlotte Churchill by yesterday morning, with many having left touching messages of sympathy.

Her devastated parents Angie and Vinny, in a message posted on their behalf on the site, spoke of the “wonderful daughter” they had the privilege of bringing up.

They added: “Char brought life and laughter to all she knew.

“We are having a celebration of Charlotte's life next week, full details to be confirmed.

“Thank you all so much, it is so comforting to read everyone's kind, funny and heartfelt words.”

The site’s information page conveyed the respect Charlotte was held in by many people.

It read: “Charlotte was a great friend to a lot of people and she always made everyone smile.

“She will never be forgotten, Rest In Peace.”

Charlotte worked at Jack and Jill Day Nursery in Oxton, Wirral.

She leaves family including her parents, older brother Karl and younger sister Olivia.

A spokesman for the North-East Wales Coroner’s Office said a post-mortem was being conducted into Charlotte’s death.
