A WOMAN died when the car she was travelling in was involved in a horrific crash near Mold.
Emergency services were called to the scene, on the A541 at Hendre, just before 10pm on Saturday.
One vehicle was involved, a red Nissan Micra, which is believed to have hit a tree.
The front seat passenger, a 19-year-old from the Wirral, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family Liaison Officers have been appointed and are supporting her family.
The driver of the car and the rear seat passenger both sustained minor injuries and were taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital for treatment.
Flintshire Highways were informed of the incident and a section of the road was
closed with diversions put in place.
Police investigating the incident are appealing to anyone who was travelling on the road and who witnessed the collision to contact PC Aled Jackson, or officers at the Eastern Roads Policing Unit, on 101 if in Wales, 0845 6071001 for the Welsh language line, or 0845 6071002 for the English language line.
