A SCHOOLBOY suffered “nasty” injuries to his face when he was attacked by a gang of adults as he waited for a taxi.

The 16-year-old boy was set upon by three men and a woman outside Flint Sports and Social Club, on Earl Street, on Friday night.

His mobile phone and a small amount of cash were stolen before the gang fled the scene.

The boy walked to Palace Bingo on Church Street where he was picked up by an ambulance and taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Bodelwyddan.

Police are now examining CCTV footage to establish what happened.

Flint Coleshill councillor Alex Aldridge said attacks of this nature will not be tolerated in Flint.

“We have got to condemn attacks like this on a very young man especially when it was four against one,” he told the Leader.

“Attacks of this kind can have very serious consequences such as permanent brain damage.

“The body can only sustain so much trauma at any one time.

“Thankfully these assaults are few and far between in Flint but should not be tolerated. Anyone with information should contact the police immediately.”

The incident happened at about 10.50pm when the boy was approached by the gang, all thought to be in their early twenties.

A North Wales Police spokesman said: “The men are described as speaking with eastern European accents. One is described as tall and thin with a shaved head, another was wearing a hoody.

“The woman is described as of thin build, with long hair and wearing tight jeans and high heel shoes.”

The spokesman described the boy’s injuries as “nasty” but not life-threatening.

Anyone with information can call North Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
