TRIBUTES have been paid to a 47-year-old man whose body has been found on the Great Orme at Llandudno.

Neighbours of Andrew Parvin, who lived at Chestnut Avenue, Summerhill, Wrexham, said they were shocked to hear he had died, describing him as being a quiet gentleman.

Next door neighbour Christine Coppell said: “Andrew had been living here for about eight years now. He used to love to go walking out in the countryside on a regular basis and was also a very good photographer – taking some lovely pictures. He was quiet, generous and thoughtful.”

Mr Parvin was a contractor working at Airbus based in Broughton, Deeside.

A spokeswoman for the company said: “Our sympathies are with friends and family members.”

Mr Parvin was reported missing on Monday night from his parents’ home in Deganwy.

Inspector Mark Cartmell said the police helicopter found his body at the foot of the cliffs to the north side of the Great Orme on Wednesday morning.

Insp Cartmell added: “Inquiries have confirmed the identification and the North West Wales coroner has been informed. A post mortem is due to take place.

“We are also appealing for information from anyone who might have been on the Great Orme on Sunday afternoon and either saw or spoke to Mr Parvin.

“He was described as being of slim build, with dark hair in his late 40s, wearing a dark coloured puffer type walking jacket, khaki trousers and grey hiking boots.”

Anyone with information is asked to get in contact with the police by telephoning 101.

When he was reported missing, North Wales Police described Mr Parvin as an experienced walker who regularly visited the Betws Y Coed and Snowdonia areas.

He had left his parents’ home with the intention of going for a walk.

According to John Gittins, assistant coroner for North East Wales, a postmortem was carried out and an inquest opened but adjourned to a later date.
