A RESIDENT is furious with a telecommunications company after being told he is going to be without his telephone and internet connection for at least two months.

Steve Faulkner, of Top Road, Summerhill, Wrexham, says he has been off-line since December 19 and digging work needed to get to the root of the problem is not going to get under way until February 20.

Mr Faulkner said the situation was totally unacceptable. People have been unable to contact him and as a result he has missed attending the funeral of a close family friend.

“I have been a customer of Talk Talk for five years. On December 18 I lost my phone and internet connection. It came back briefly and was very crackly on the 19th, but since then has been completely dead.”

Mr Faulkner said he is furious with the way the situation is being handled. He keeps getting different reasons why the fault has taken place and new dates for when it will be fixed.

“Phone calls go to voice mail and I can’t access the messages. A close family friend died over Christmas and I didn’t find out until after the burial. People had tried to contact me but couldn’t get through and didn’t know there was a fault on the line.”

Mr Faulkner, an operations manager for a company in Telford, says he has a busy working life and can’t afford to keep devoting time to Talk Talk fixing his phone and internet connection.

He said Talk Talk was updating him regularly now, but he said he is no closer to having the service back on line.

Mr Faulkner said he was still paying for the service by standing order despite the fact he has not had a phone and internet service for nearly two months.

In response a spokeswoman for Talk Talk said: “We are sorry to hear about the problems. We are working closely with Openreach and the local council to get the matter resolved.

“We will continue to keep Mr Faulkner informed and aim to have the matter resolved as quickly as possible.”
