TRIBUTES have been paid to a mother-of-three who was killed on a dual carriageway.

The body of Louise Amison, 31, from Bagillt, was found lying on the A548 in Bagillt close to The Stag Inn shortly after 4.30am on Sunday.

Officers are now scouring CCTV footage from local businesses to establish how Louise met her death.

She leaves behind her three sons – Jordan 14, Joshua 10, and Jack, eight – her mother, Jane, and sister, Natalie.

A family spokesman said: “Louise Amison will be sadly missed by all family members and close friends.”

The dead woman’s close friend, Allison Millington, who lives in Liverpool, told of her devastation at hearing the news.

She said: “I got a phone call from my sister telling me to sit down because she had some news.

“She told me my best mate had been killed and I couldn’t believe it.

“I saw her not so long ago because I took my children to go and visit hers. We chatted about old times.

“She was a top mum and the best friend a person could ever ask for.

“I could trust her with my life and she was always protective over me.

“I love her with all of my heart and I will miss her deeply.”

Allison is urging anyone with information to contact police.

She added: “I just hope the person or people who were involved come forward and tell the police.

“I hope justice is done to whoever has taken my best friend away from her lovely children.”

Louise was once a devoted member of the Delyn Stars morris dancers.

“She was a brilliant morris dancer. She was popular and loved by everyone,” said Allison, who was also in the troupe.

“We used to get grounded most weekends but we would always sneak out. She was mischievous like that.”

Tributes to Louise have also been pouring into the Leader website.

‘welshmum’ wrote: “She was the life and soul of the party and all who knew her will remember her for her bubbly personality.

“She will be so sadly missed by all who knew her.”

‘Welsh91’ wrote: “Such a shame. Rest in peace. My thoughts are with your family.” Police are appealing for information about the driver of a vehicle who failed to stop and report the collision.

Insp Alan Hughes said: “I would appeal for anyone who was travelling on or near the A548 between Flint and Holywell between 4am and 4.30am on Sunday,
January 30, and who saw a woman about 5ft tall wearing a dark jacket and jeans and a red hat, to come forward.”

A section of the A548 was closed for nearly 12 hours while forensic officers carried out fingertip searches on the road.

Traffic was diverted through the village centre and a police helicopter was also scrambled to take aerial photographs of the scene.

A post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday at Glan Clwyd Hospital, Bodelwyddan.

An inquest will be opened and adjourned once the cause of death has been established.
