MASKED raiders armed with a hammer and knives have stormed a takeaway.

Three armed men burst into Domino’s Pizza on Chester Street, Saltney,  through the back entrance at 11.30pm on Monday as staff were closing the branch, which only opened in November.

Brandishing a hammer and knives, the men threatened terrified staff members, demanding the evening’s takings from the till.

Cheshire Police senior spokesman, Louise Hughes, said: “The offenders stole cash as well as mobile phones from the staff before running out the back of the shop.”

One pizza maker was left with a minor injury to his lip as a result of the raid.
Police are now on the hunt for the three men, who they believe to be a serious risk to the public and other businesses.

The first offender is described as white, 5ft 8in to 5ft 9in tall, of average build and with a local accent.

He was wearing a white scarf around his face with a hat or hood over his head. He was dressed in dark coloured jogging pants, white trainers and a blue waist length coat with black gloves.

The second man was white, 6ft tall, of slim build and was wearing a dark grey hooded top with dark trousers.

He had his hood up with a dark coloured scarf covering most of his face and was carrying a white paper carrier bag with a design motif on it.

The third suspect is described as white, 6ft tall, of slight build, wearing a black North Face waist length jacket with black nylon jogging pants.

He masked his face with a black scarf and wore black woollen gloves. His footwear was covered with black socks.

Yesterday, restaurant owners AKS Partners, a family-run firm based on Wirral, were preparing a statement about the incident.

No formal comment has yet been made by Dr Talib Al Kadhimi and the other holding franchises.

The Chester Road store is one of seven Domino’s Pizza branches owned by the company.
