POLICE officers have arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery carried out by two raiders at the Co-Operative store in Regent Street, Llangollen, at around 7.50pm on Thursday.
The arrested man, from the Denbigh area, is in custody at St Asaph where he is being interviewed.
It had originally been believed a quantity of cash had been stolen in the robbery, but on Friday afternoon police said the offenders fled empty handed. A knife has been recovered.
Det Insp Iestyn Davies said: “A number of properties in the Denbigh area have been searched in an attempt to locate two males in connection with the offence and these searches continue.
“I would ask anyone with information to contact North Wales Police on 101.”
