A WREXHAM couple are sharing their wedding day with Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Emma Holden, 36, and Ian Davies, 35, had already booked the date well before the royal wedding was announced.

Now the couple hope that the antics of the royal wedding, which will be a bank holiday, won’t steal their thunder.

It was love at first sight for Emma and Ian, of St John’s Road, Hightown, as they met through Facebook in April 2009 and were engaged by August.

But for Emma, a former hairdresser, she knew that Ian was the one when he proposed out of the blue.

“He’s my soulmate and we have a lot of trust in our relationship,” she said.

The pair have recently welcomed a new addition to the family – eight week old Noah – who was born premature and had be kept on life support for two weeks.

Emma said that Ian’s support during this time has been invaluable and made her realise how strong their love is.

Now they cannot wait to tie the knot at St Giles’ Parish Church in Wrexham on Friday, April 29 at 12.30pm followed by a reception at the Wynnstay Hotel in the town at 3pm.

“We booked April 29 because it’s close to Easter and we have family travelling from across the country so thought it would be easier for them,” she said.

“We booked the hotel in June last year and the church in August.

“Then when the royal wedding was announced my mum phoned me and said ‘you never guess what? the prince is getting married on the same day’ and I put on the
TV and couldn’t believe it.”

Emma and Ian live with Emma’s children from a previous relationship – Aleah, nine and Lee, eight.

Emma added: “I felt happy but I also felt like they were stealing the limelight.

“But all my family are excited and I’m hoping it will be all about my day and not the royal wedding.

“It’s a day I’ll never forget anyway.”
