A GROUP of five children have received a Royal thanks for their message of congratulations to Prince William and Kate Middleton on their engagement.
Jamie Coppell, 13, Olivia Coppell 10, Blake Coppell seven, Rebekah Coppell, three, and four-month-old Aimee Jones are the grandchildren of Shirley Mosley, who wrote to Buckingham Palace on their behalf.
She was delighted to receive a reply from St James’ Palace with thanks and gives warmest best wishes for the letter, saying that it was greatly appreciated.
Shirley, of Gwersyllt, said everyone involved had been delighted to receive the royal reply
She has now made copies of the original for each of her grandchildren to have as a keepsake.
“We are all very pleased. After all it is not every day that you get a letter which comes from representatives of the royal family,” said Shirley.
“I really wish Prince William and Kate Middleton all the very best for their big day and the rest of their lives together.
“I think that they make a lovely couple and hope they will be very happy.”
The wedding will take place on April 29 at Westminster Abbey.
The Dean of Westminster will conduct the service, the Archbishop of Canterbury will marry the couple and the Bishop of London will give the address.
“I am hoping that I will watch the wedding on television with my grandchildren,” said Shirley.
“I wrote to Prince Charles and Lady Diana when they were getting married in 1981 and I thought it would be nice to carry that on for William and Kate.”
