TWO young mothers-turned entrepreneurs have been hailed as “role models” after celebrating their business’s first birthday.

Helen Mort and Lisa Hinze set up Business Essentials to provide a book-keeping service for businesses unable to afford to run their own accounts department.

The company, which is proving so successful they have taken on three freelance staff, is being backed by Chartered Accountants Coxeys, who have offices in Wrexham and Saltney.

Lisa said: “Things are going really well. Everything has taken off and we’re very busy and we seem to have hit the right kind of level for our client base and seem to be offering the right kind of services in the current climate.

“We seem to have pitched it right in terms of cost and the level of service that we’re offering.

“We’re trying to give clients good added value and tailoring our service to what they actually want and need for their business.

“Clients can cherry pick the services they need which makes it a very cost-effective service from their point of view.”

Helen and Lisa invited Wrexham AM Lesley Griffiths, who is also Deputy Minister for Science, Innovation and Skills, to join them for their first anniversary party.

She said: “I am delighted that these two young female entrepreneurs are just going from strength to strength and employing more and more people.

“They have obviously found a niche because there’s a demand for their services and they’re now taking on new clients as the result of recommendations from satisfied customers.

“They’re standing on their own two feet now and they are excellent role models who are showing what can be achieved.”
