TRIBUTES have been paid to a beloved son, husband and father who died after suffering a brain haemorrhage.

James Rennie, 45, from Coedpoeth, was struck down on October 23 and rushed to Wrexham Maelor Hospital before being moved to Glan Clwyd later that day.

He then spent six weeks at the Walton Centre, a neurology specialist hospital in Liverpool, but sadly died Sunday, December 5.

According to his family, James, who played football for Brickfield as a youngster and was a lifelong supporter of both Wrexham and Leeds United Football Clubs,
fought courageously until the end.

He was an older brother to Jason and eldest son of Derek and Josephine, founders of Minera Building Supplies, Ruthin Road, where he played an important part in the company’s success.

James went to school in Penygelli and at Bryn Offa before attending Yale College and joining the family business at 17.

He leaves wife Julie, daughter Kate and son Nathan.

The family said: “He was well loved by all his family and his numerous friends too many to mention here.

“James was described by his many friends as a ‘gentle giant’ and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.”

The funeral will take place tomorrow at 1pm followed by a burial at Coedpoeth Cemetery.
