A WOMAN has died after being struck by a train last night.
The victim, said to be a 46-year-old from the Hawarden area, was discovered shortly after 6.15pm near Slack Lane road bridge, Pentrobin, near Hawarden.
The woman was declared dead at the scene, with police not currently treating the incident as suspicious.
A spokeswoman for British Transport Police said: “At 6.15pm on December 6 officers from British Transport Police and paramedics attended Slack Lane road bridge, Pentrobin, Hawarden, to a person having been struck by a train.
“On arrival police officers located a person who was declared deceased at the scene.
“British Transport Police have started an investigation and at this time the incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
