A DRUGS dealer has been put behind bars.

Andrew Martin, 42, from High Street, Connah’s Quay, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs with intent to supply at Mold Crown Court.

It follows tip-offs to police from residents who suspected him of illegal activities.
He was jailed for five years for the possession of Class A drug heroin with intent to supply.

Deeside Inspector Mark Hughes told the Leader: “This was as result of a long and protracted police enquiry into the supply of heroin in the Deeside area.

“Police responded to a number of calls from local residents concerned about his activities which were having a detrimental effect in terms of their quality of life and was impacting on crime and anti-social behaviour in their community.

“I would like to thank local residents for their help and patience in relation to this individual and would also like to thank the officers for their perseverance and professionalism which resulted in a guilty plea and subsequent conviction. I am delighted with the outcome.”

Insp Best is urging anybody who suspects anybody of possessing or dealing drugs to contact police immediately.

He added: “My officers are keen to respond to the needs of the community and issues which directly effect their quality of life.

“I would urge anyone with any information in relation to drugs, crime or antisocial behaviour to report the matter to us and we will respond accordingly.”
