THE hunt is on for the real Father Christmas.

Erddig – the National Trust property near Wrexham – is appealing for Santa Claus to take up residence in its Christmas Village.

Next month the country house will be transformed in to a winter wonderland, complete with a Christmas market.

There will be nearly 50 wooden chalets and stalls filled with all manner of gifts.
There will be traditional festive food and drink available including mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, pastries and chocolates.

The village will also have a beautiful and magical winter wonderland and a grotto but National Trust bosses are desperate to find Father Christmas.

An Erddig spokesman said: “The village will have a beautiful and magical winter wonderland and a grotto just right for Father Christmas.

“This will include a toy workshop where already his helpers have a list of toys to build and who will be there getting all the presents ready for Father Christmas to deliver on Christmas Eve.

“All it needs is the real Father Christmas who will welcome the children to the market and of course ask them what they would like for Christmas.

“We know Father Christmas will be busy now but there is always time to see the children.”

The Erddig Christmas Village is open on December 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19 from 10am to 5pm.

Entry to the market is free and tickets to see Father Christmas cost £4, including a present.
