A MAN who was found to be almost three times over the drink-drive limit has been banned from driving for two years.

A car being driven by Piotr Mariusz Dudsinski, 29, pulled out of a side road in front of a car which had to take evasive action – in full view of an approaching police car.

Officers followed his car for a short distance along Chester Road West in Shotton, on October 9 and saw him brake sharply.

A breath test showed he had 99 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath compared to the legal limit of 35mgs.

Dudsinski, of St David’s Court, Connah’s Quay, admitted drink driving and in addition to the ban was placed on a 12 month community order, under which he must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs.

Phillip Lloyd Jones, defending, at Flintshire magistrates’ court in Mold, said his client had been at home on the day and his wife was out in the car.

He received information that the car was malfunctioning so he decided to walk the short distance to to see if he could help.

The car was repeatedly stalling and his main concern was his wife’s safety.

He decided to drive the car the short distance home and his wife walked.

Unfortunately, he had earlier drunk a number of cans of beer, not intending to drive at all that day.

When he pulled out onto the main road, he understood he had been flashed out by another driver. The car stalled again when he braked hard in front of the police officers.

He added his client was a man of good character who had no issues with alcohol and had co-operated fully with the police.
