A SEARCH was due to restart  this morning for a Summerhill man reported missing on Sunday and described as being in "poor physical condition".

North Wales Police says it is concerned for the safety of Raymond Andrew Owens.

He was last seen at his home address yesterday.

Inspector Richard Morgan of North Wales Police said that Mr Owens gave no details of his intended movements and there has been has been no contact with him since.

Mr Owens is described as being 5ft 9in tall with short greying hair which is balding on top. He was wearing a brown anorak with hood, buff and white check shirt, grey jeans and light coloured trainers.

Insp Morgan said that Mr Owens has lost around two stone in weight over the last three months and he is generally in poor physical condition.

“There is concern for his safety. He is not believed to have money or access to transport and for those reasons it is likey Mr Owens is still in the Wrexham area,” said Insp Morgan.

The search team includes the North East Wales Search And Rescue (NEWSAR) Search And Rescue Dogs Association (SARDA) and RAF Valley mountain rescue team. Searchers were working throughout Sunday into the early hours of Monday morning.

Insp Morgan said the search was due to restart this morning.

He added that if any members of the public had information on Mr Owens' whereabouts they should telephone 101 and the incident number is L202494.
