YOU will have heard of the calendar girls – now meet the calendar boys!

Men aged from 18 to their mid-70s have been putting themselves in the picture to raise money for charity.

Husbands, partners, brothers and sons of women who are members of the Borras-based ladies fitness centre Curves have taken part in a fun fundraising project.

And in the spirit of the famous Women’s Institute calendar girls who stripped off to support Leukaemia Research, the boys have dared to go bare.

They have been tastefully photographed in various states of undress for a calendar which is being produced to help raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

The men make good use of fitness equipment at Curves to help hide their modesty.

Curves assistant manager Hannah Wright said: “The oldest model was John Lendnau, who is aged 76.

“We would like to thank everyone who agreed to take part. They really were marvellous and it is helping such a good cause.

“We are asking for a donation of £8 per calendar with at least £5 from each one going to Breast Cancer Care.”

Hannah said Curves had taken part in many charity fundraising projects over the years but this was the first to involve a cheeky calendar.

“It is proving to be really popular. We haven’t had all the copies back from the printer yet but already half our total order has been sold.

“We may well ask for more to be produced to cope with the big demand.

“We got the original idea at the club and then asked around, finding out who would be interested in getting involved.

“The pictures were taken at Curves with member Joanne Taylor being the photographer for the evening.

“We would also like to thank KC Graphics for printing the calendar.”

Hannah said the project had been so successful it could be repeated next year.
