A MAN was subjected to a terrifying knife ordeal during an attempted robbery in the Caia Park area of Wrexham.

The 48 year old was confronted by a knife-wielding tennager who demanded money from the victim.

The victim struggled with the attacker and suffered a minor injury to his hand during the incident which happened in Gwenfro just beforde 4pm on Monday.

Police are appealing for information on the attack which detectives are linking with a robbery attempt on a woman in the same area a few days earlier.

The offender is described as being around 17 to 19 with short graded, dark coloured hair and around 5ft 10in.

He is said to be slim to medium build with a pale complexion.

In the other attempted robbery in Caia Park last Friday a 47-year-old woman was walking along in the Bryn Hafod area at around 5.10pm when she was approached by an offender who demanded money from her.

The victim ran to a nearby address where she raised the alarm and the offender fled empty-handed.

High visibility patrols are being conducted in the Caia Park area and house-to-house inquiries are being carried out by officers.
