A TEENAGER is in with the chance of winning a top modelling competition.

Jessica Waterhouse, 16, from Buckley, has reached the public voting round for the 2011 Miss Teen Queen UK competition.

Each month a selection of girls are photographed and shown on the competition’s website.

The top two girls each month will then go through to the live finals in London in August 2011.

Jessica, a former pupil at the Elfed High School in Buckley, has been selected to appear on the website in October.

She currently has the second highest number of votes, but voting does not close until October 15 so there is still a chance she could slip to third place and lose her place in the final.

Jessica told the Leader: “I really enjoy modelling and I like meeting new people. I hope to make a career out of modelling.

“My friends are very excited about the competition, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Jessica’s mum Debbie added: “I’m very proud of Jessica, we all are. She had a photo shoot for Diesel Models in London earlier in the year and were contacted after that to suggest she went forward for this competition.

The prize includes clothes, make up and jewellery, as well as an introduction to a London modelling agency, an appearance at The Clothes Show and a trip to Africa.
