BLUES boss Neil Young reflected on last night's memorable 3-2 victory at Witton Albion to secure Chester third place in the league table.

Young sat in the main stand for the duration of a match decided by George Horan's headed goal four minutes into stoppage time.

Witton had provided the Blues with a tense finale by levelling matters with two goals in two injury time minutes courtesy of goals from Dave MacPherson and Ashley Stott.

Chester had looked comfortable during the majority of the contest after Michael Wilde had put them 1-0 ahead after 22 minutes before Bradley Barnes doubled their account in the 58th minute.

But the plucky home club looked like they had secured a share of the spoils, before Horan popped up at the death and wheeled away in celebration.

Young said: “I couldn't quite believe the finish. I was slumped in my seat  when their second goal went in. I couldn't believe vwhat was happening.

“For 90 minutes we had bossed the game and I don't think they had a shot. We could have scored four or five on chances and the lads did everything that we asked of them.

“They worked their socks off, but they lost concentration for two minutes.

“I suppose everyone will want to talk about the two goals we conceded, but the performance beforehand was excellent.

“To come back again in stoppage time and win it was a credit to the team.”
