MOURNERS have been told they will not be expected to wear dark clothing at the funeral of a mum who died from cancer earlier this week.

The funeral of Vikki Purslow, 27, will be at Saint Thomas Church in Penycae at noon on Monday, September 20.

The service will be followed by a burial in Coedpoeth Cemetery.

Family members have stated that wearing dark colours is not necessary and it is family flowers only.

If desired any donations are for Nightingale House Hospice and Macmillan Nurses.

Vikki, of Coedpoeth, died just five months after being diagnosed with cancer throughout her body and spent this time raising more than £33,000 for charity.

She also spent time with her husband Matthew who she married in May and prepared videos, books and journals for her two daughters Cleo and Amelie to remember her by.

Family, friends and even people who had never met Vikki were inspired by her fight for life and her fundraising efforts.

On Vikki’s Facebook page tributes to the former music teacher from Whitchurch have continued to pour in.

Misses Tobe wrote: “Vikki we never met - but you made a mark on my heart and mind as you have done with others - a true inspiration - sleep easy now.”

John C. Haddock wrote: “I'll never forget the good times we had during college, what a great friend you were and the fantastic mother you became.

“You were an inspiration to us all and I'll never forget you.

“You were always a ray of sunshine and now you’re a star shining down on us all.
