THE SISTER of Vikki Purslow who lost a five month battle with cancer has paid a moving tribute to her.

Vikki, 27, of Coedpoeth, died on Monday at Nightingale House Hospice after being diagnosed with cancer throughout her body.

Vikki’s sister Emma Jones said on behalf of the whole family: “My sister was the most honourable, inspirational person I had the pleasure to share my life with.

“Her passing away has left a huge void in our lives.

“The last five months have been very difficult but together the family have spent some wonderful, fun times with Vik and we have many, many memories to keep with us forever.

“Rather than give in to her illness, she was determined to raise awareness of the charities that she spent so much of her last precious few months raising money for.”

The married mum-of-two raised more than £33,000 for three different charities after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

This included a walk up Snowdon and a fun day in Coedpoeth which could become an annual event in Vikki’s memory.

Emma continued: “My mum, dad, Matthew and I were privileged to spend the last ten days of her life with Vikki in Nightingale House where the staff cared for and protected Vik and all of us with total dedication.

“I cannot praise the doctors, nurses and the rest of the hospice team enough as they made Vik’s final journey so much easier for her, and have been an incredible support for the whole family.

“We miss her so much already and will love her eternally.”

Speaking about his wife earlier this year Matthew described her as ‘the most courageous, gorgeous, funny, smart, clever woman’ he had ever met in his life and also his soulmate.
