NEIL YOUNG had words of praise for his impressive side who extended their unbeaten start to the season with an emphatic 5-0 victory last night at Bamber Bridge.

Young saw his in-form team produce a rampant display to overwhelm their Preston hosts who had seen their unbeaten start blown apart.

He said: "The lads did everything I asked of them. I picked a big strong team purposely and we mixed things up. I pick teams to win games of football and that's what we've done again.

"I made changes and I left certain players out of the squad totally, but it's a team effort and a squad effort and every player tonight has played a major part.

"They did everything I asked them to do, particularly from setpieces.

"I thought Bamber Bridge played some good stuff in the first half, but we defended well as a unit and Danny Meadowcroft came in and did well to start his first game of the season.

"Young Stuart Jones has had two games and he's done well again and was really strong in the air to take his two goals.

"We had a game plan and we carried that out. We worked hard from setpieces and it worked.

"Bamber Bridge hadn't conceded a goal before tonight and they were unbeaten, but people have to give our players a lot of credit for the victory.

"We could have scored more goals, but to come here and score five goals was a fantastic achievement.

"It's a great way to go into Saturday's match at home to Chorley, but the league won't be won on Saturday.

"We still have to play on a number of bad pitches and we have another seven or eight months of thed season left. But we've had three cleansheets on the bounce and we've played the way I wanted the team to play."
