THE former owner of a takeaway linked with an E.coli outbreak will face charges.

Ramazan Aslan (pictured above) faces three charges under Food Hygiene Regulations 2006 in relation to running Llay Fish Bar.

The first charge alleges that Aslan failed to comply with the regulations because cooked and ready to eat food was not protected at all stages of production, process and distribution against contamination with E.coli 0157 likely to render the food unfit for human consumption between July 1 2009 and July 31 2010.

The second charge is failing to notify Wrexham Council that he had become the food business operator of Llay Fish Bar dating between August 1 2008 and August 28 2010.

The final charge alleges that Aslan had not put in place a permanent procedure in relation to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACC) between August 28 2008 and July 31 2010.

Aslan will appear before Wrexham Magistrates Court on September 23.

The E.coli outbreak which the allegations are linked to happened in August 2009.

Four people became seriously ill after contracting the bug including Wrexham librarian Karen Morrisroe.

Wrexham Council officials closed the takeaway following the concerns.

The takeaway is now under new management not linked to the previous Llay Fish Bar management.
