Denbigh clinched the Division One title with a four wicket success over Northop, who saw their promotion hopes ended.

Chris Brookes’ Northop outfit managed to total 166-9 declared from 45 overs, but it was never going to be enough as Denbigh reached 167-6, John Lee Rowlands proving the match winner with an unbeaten 64.

Pwllheli joined them in the top flight for the first time in their history as they collected a losing draw at Llandudno 2nds.

Owen Jones top scored with 61 as Llandudno posted 187, before Pwllheli collected the points they needed to clinch promotion, ending their chase on 163-8.

Gresford put pay to Conwy’s promotion hopes as they defeated the visitors by 55 runs.

Matthew Cree was the star of the Gresford innings as he struck an unbeaten 115, Gareth Rowland (28) and Chris Ellwood (25) providing vital support to Cree as the home side posted 250-6 declared.

The bowling trio of Patrick Richards (3-24), Arthur Thomas (3-26) and Ellwood (3-65) then ran through the Pwllheli line-up to restrict them to 195 all out.

Rhewl’s second win of the campaign came too late as they are already guaranteed to be playing Division Two cricket next season.

The home side were able to score 209-9 against Bersham before bowling the visitors out for just 116, leaving their oppenents sweating on their future.

Marchwiel and Wrexham, who occupy the remaining relegation spot, close the gap on third from bottom Bersham with one match to play as they clung on for a losing draw at Bethesda.

Tommy Bellis (4-40) was the pick of the Marchwiel bowlers as Bethesda were forced to declare on 212-9.

Michael Forgrave and Owen Ward went early in the Marchwiel reply, but David Ward (76no), Anthony Morris (32) and George Forgrave (25) stuck around long enough to see the away side to 192-8.

Mike Briscoe and Kevin Jones were the star turns as Halkyn picked up an 89 run victory at Llay Welfare.

Briscoe was in fine touch with the bat as he fired a superb 103 from the 160 total, Phil Bray (6-61) eventually ending his stay at the crease.

There were no such worries to the Halkyn bowlers as Jones (6-19) ripped through the hosts to leave them 71 all out.

Brymbo Seconds moved out of the Division Two drop zone with one match of the season remaining as they lost to Corwen by 22 runs.

A 141 run partnership between skipper Nathan Aldridge (92) and Matthew Duckworth (72) enabled Corwen to total 242-5, and although it proved too many runs for Brymbo to chase down, they managed to earn four points compared to Anglesey’s two.

David Broderick (50), Adam Meredith (32) and Michael Edge (34) all found runs easy to come by, but they ended on 220-8.

Northop 2nds are pretty much guaranteed to be playing Division Two cricket again next season despite an 88 run defeat at Carmel and District, who remain with an outside chance of promotion.

Carmel were able to post 225-5 having been asked to bat first, Nick Washbrook leading the way with 84, while Daniel Owens added 43 and Daniel Oliver struck 39.

The Carmel attack of Michael Harrison (3-31), Steve ‘Scooter’ Jones (2-31) and William Loveland (2-10) ensured that Northop were unable to score any more than 137-8.

The result leaves Northop nine points clear of Anglesey, while Carmel trail second placed Bangor 2nds, who beat St Asaph 2nds, by seven points.

Gwersyllt Park are in with a more realistic chance of taking second spot as they collected a 59 run triumph over hosts Dolgellau.

Ian Pearson reached 1,000 runs for the campaign en route to his 44, while Darren Jones (29), Rhys Ryder (27) and Wayne Evans (26) helped Park to 175-9.

Pearson then picked up 6-22 to help bowl Dolgellau out for 116.

Pontblyddyn 2nds failed to stop Menai Bridge 2nds from all but confirming their place in Division One as they fell to an eight wicket loss.

The Pont total of 124-8 never looked like being enough to trouble the table toppers, and so it proved as they crossed the winning line inside 27 overs, Jonathan Mountfort and Ranjith Appuhamy with two consolation wickets.

Division Three champions Buckley left Mold Seconds with a mountain to climb as they look to take the second promotion spot from Mynydd Isa.

Mold, who picked up four points from their two wicket defeat to Buckley, sit six points adrift of Isa with one game of the season remaining.

Ryan White (4-24) and Jordan Baxter (2-3) were the main thorns in Mold’s side as they were bowled out for 122, John Crane top scoring with 33 at the top of the order.

Crane (2-35) and Jamie Ryle (4-21) then combined to leave Buckley struggling, but they were able to reach the winning line inside 35 overs and with two wickets remaining.

Isa failed to rubber-stamp their promotion as they slipped to a five run defeat at home to Hawarden Park 2nds, who remain fifth.

Ian Dixon (37) and John Gorman (23no) were the only men to make double figures as Isa were restricted to 111-7, before Phil Young (35no) led the visitors home with 14 overs to spare.

Llay Welfare 2nds have left themselves in a hole as they conceded their match at Denbigh 2nds.

As a result, Llay were docked points, leaving them trailing third from bottom Castell Alun by six points with one game remaining.

Castell Alun failed to ease their relegation worries as they lost at Bala by eight wickets, securing the hosts Division Three status in the process.

Jason Lloyd’s side could only score 117-9 and Bala comfortably reached 118-2.

Ruthin maintained their fourth placed standing in the table with a convincing seven wicket win over hosts Shotton.

Shay Tudor was the destroyer in chief as he picked up six Shotton wickets, while Owen Hughes (2-20) and Llyr Williams (1-15) helped bowl the home side out for 109.

Stephen Bryan-Jones (37) and Gwern Llwyd Owain (22) then led Ruthin to 111-3 inside 30 overs.

Shotton bounced back from that defeat to record a 17 run win over Denbigh 2nds on Sunday. Opening duo Kenneth Evans (60) and Marcello Carrino (58) led Shotton to 176-3 after they were asked to bat first. Denbigh’s reply was then ended on 159-9 despite an unbeaten 54 from Joe Lewis.

Connah’s Quay 2nds picked up their eighth maximum victory of the Division Four season as they defeated Bethesda 2nds by 181 runs.

Stephen Norbury (61), Kevin Jones (58) and Andrew Lloyd (35 not out) all found the going good as Quay posted 271-6 from 45 overs. The home side then bowled Bethesda out for just 90, Lee Davies and Andy Davies taking seven wickets between them.

Gresford 2nds failed to halt Mochdre 2nds promotion hopes as they lost to the hosts by 109 runs.

Cameron Murdoch picked up three wickets for Gresford after Mochdre chose to bat first, but it proved in vain as Ross Stevens blasted 136, including 23 fours as the home side posted 266-7.

Gresford’s reply ended on 157-9, several batsmen making starts but failing to push on.

Dafydd Bailey’s maiden century helped Carmel and District 2nds to a 98 run triumph at Bersham 2nds.

Bailey was in superb touch as he struck an unbeaten 127, Jonathan Fisher (50) adding vital support as Carmel totalled 259-3.

Dafydd Timothy (3-29), Lee Rowles (3-35), Barry Mcgauty (2-35) and Timothy Abraham (1-39) did the rest as Bersham were bowled out for 161.

Corus Colors could not stop Conwy 2nds from ending their season with a win as they crashed to a 60 run defeat.

Conwy struck 219-5 before Corus were bundled out for 159, Jimmy Guy offering some resistance with 47.

Buckley 2nds are guaranteed a third placed finish after they overcame Halkyn 2nds, who will be relegated to Division Six, by seven wickets.

Alyn Evans (3-13), Adam Shaw (2-12), Daz Wilcock (2-15) and Ritchie Thomas (1-10) saw Halkyn bowled out for 52. Buckley then strolled to 53-3.

Mid table Northop 3rds lost their rain deduced match with visiting Menai Bridge 3rds by 35 runs.

Northop were left chasing 181 for victory having asked their visitors to bat first after winning the toss, but they were unable to reach the total despite 37 from Thomas Hughes.

In Division Six, Shotton 2nds (142) were able to edge out hosts Ruthin 2nds (139) by three runs and Castell Alun 2nds (147) were unable to overcome Rhewl 2nds (182) despite 5-46 from promising bowler Tom Davies.

Corwen 2nds look set to finish fourth in the bottom tier after they were awarded eight points from their trip to Anglesey Aluminium 2nds, which was cancelled due to the hosts being unable to raise a side.
