FOUR talented North Wales youngsters have beaten tough competition to appear alongside some of the West End’s top performers.

Cerys Brooke Jones, 10, of Gwersyllt, Jessica Young, 15, from Rhosddu, Kieran Jones, 16, from Mold, and 18-year-old Richard Davies of Colwyn Bay all wowed judges at auditions for The Sound of Musicals.

The show, which stars and is produced by Wrexham-born singer Lydia Griffiths, takes place at William Aston Hall in Wrexham on Saturday, September 25.

Lydia herself began on her path to stardom after winning the Jonathan Ross Big Big Talent Show and singing at the Royal Variety Show.

She said: “I had heard through my links in Wrexham that there were a few up-and-coming young performers working their way up through the ranks.

“I wanted to give them a platform to perform with professionals from the West End stage as I did when I was learning the ropes.

“I’m very pleased to have them on board and know they will be going on to great things in the future.”

The evening will be led by renowned West End musical director Robert Scott.
Lydia added: “We will also be joined by the Delta and Elsber dance companies who will be performing their award-winning routines from Riverdance and We Will Rock You.”

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets can be booked through the box office on 01978 293293 or online at www.glyndwr.ac.uk/events.

Wrexham Tourist Information is also selling tickets, priced £15 and £13 concessions.
