RUNNING the entire length of Wales was the hardest thing these two friends have ever done.
The pair, Luke Bithell and Christopher Miles, took on the challenge to run 40 miles a day for four days between Cardiff Castle and Conwy Castle.
Between them Luke and Christopher, both 21, have raised about £1,500, with more expected to come in.
The money will be split between the MS Society and Help for Heroes.
Speaking about the challenge Plas Madoc lifeguard Luke, of Cefn Mawr, said: “The run was without a doubt the hardest thing we have ever taken part in in our lives so far.
“We knew it would be tough, but it really exceeded our expectations.”
Luke said that the first day went smoothly but the second day caught up with the pair.
He said: “I started blistering and Chris had a bit of trouble with his joints. I really did come near to breaking point, but you just think of the cause and how many people you're doing it for.”
Chris’ girlfriend Emily and her friend Katie followed in their car for support.
Luke added: “Chris nearly fainted on the third day as we were passing Lake Vyrnwy.
“The girls asked if he wanted to get in the car. He said no and somehow got energy to finished the last 12 miles of the day.
“The fourth day was tough. We were literally on our last legs. We finished at the Liverpool Arms on the Conway quayside with a sprint finish and about 200 people cheering us on.”
