A NEW mental health facility for women will be opened today.

The Cambrian Group has developed the 24-bed Delfryn Lodge hospital on the existing specialist mental health rehabilitation campus in Mold.

Bosses have vowed to provide jobs to residents of the area.

Delyn MP David Hanson will perform the opening ceremony.

He said: “I am very pleased that this specialist intensive rehabilitation service for women will be available here in Flintshire.

“This service is a partnership arrangement with the NHS and will provide excellent support to help women in recovery.”

Delfryn Lodge is built to the highest specification, designed with focus on space, personal privacy and dignity.

There are en-suite facilities in the bedrooms and designated therapy space to accommodate both group and individual work.

The hospital also offers a children-friendly family visiting room, a beauty salon, an internet café, a multi-faith room and a gym.

Mike McQuiad, Cambrian chief operating officer, said: “Delfryn Lodge will provide a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment for 24 women to rebuild their living and vocational skills ready to regain their place in society.

“The women in our care will be able to participate in a ground-breaking programme combining intensive rehabilitation therapy with patient-centred plans.

“Situated on the outskirts of Mold, Delfryn Lodge is ideally placed to serve the needs not only in North Wales, but also the north-west of England, with its proximity to Wrexham, Chester, Manchester and Liverpool.

“The hospital will also provide significant local employment opportunities.”
