A FANCY dress walk will raise money for a brave teenage girl battling cancer.

Members of Brynford juniors football club are organising the Teddy Trek up Moel Famau to help pay for a special trip for the 13-year-old leukaemia sufferer and her sister who is set to give her a bone marrow transplant.

The parents of the girl, from the Holywell area, want her to remain anonymous to avoid any stigmatism caused from the disease.

Club chairman David Parry said: “This is a really worthy cause, especially with her being a child. We want as many people as possible to come down.

“All we are asking for is £2 per person. If people cannot make it they can donate anyway.”

Money will be collected by sponsoring teddies to get to the top of Moel Famau and David is appealing for anyone who has a teddy bear outfit to get in touch.

Those taking part in the trek are being encouraged to wear fancy dress and are meeting at the Moel Famau car park on Sunday, September 5 at 10am.

The money will be spilt equally between the family and the children’s ward at Glan Clwyd Hospital in Bodelwyddan.
