MUM-OF-TWO Helen Ward is a self-confessed Jamie Oliver superfan.

The 35-year-old, who works part-time as a school secretary, cooks nothing but the TV chef’s recipes.

So she was delighted when she not only got the chance to meet him but was also praised by her idol on stage.

Helen, of Northop Hall, Mold, said: “I am a massive fan and I have been for years and years. I am probably his biggest fan.

“It was an awe-inspiring experience to be recognised by Jamie for all my efforts and in such an overwhelming and beautiful place.

“To be singled out and to receive a personal thanks was such a privilege.”

Helen met the celebrity chef while attending a direct sales conference in Brighton.

She was one of 140 VIP guests invited to join him for a three-course meal at his Italian restaurant.

Helen had come third in the sales rankings for his Jamie at Home business less than a year after taking up her role.

Helen, who also works at at Penyffordd Junior School, said: “He is so passionate about what he does. He is just like he is on television.

“Jamie's passion and enthusiasm is infectious.”

And Helen’s children are thrilled their mum is a Jamie Oliver nut saying they love her cooking.

Jessica, aged 10, said: “I love all of Jamie’s recipes, I even try different recipes even if I think I won't like them. I’m proud of the fact that mum has met Jamie a few times.”

Ben, eight, said: “I like his recipes as mum is always cooking different ones.”

Helen added: “He has definitely inspired me with my own Jamie at Home
business. He genuinely wants each and every one to succeed.

“It was a great day and I only hope the sight of 1,000 women all in one room didn’t frighten him.”

Helen, who hosts dinner parties for friends and family, said she is always being asked for tips on how to cook the perfect meal.

So what’s her secret? Simple, really.

“To be a good cook you need fresh ingredients, a good recipe and good utensils.”
