ANOTHER year of GCSE achievement has been enjoyed at St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School.

The Flint school has seen 98per cent of pupils pass by achieving five or more A* to G grades, with an impressive 70per cent chalking up the same amount at A* to C grade.

In the past five years the school has raised the academic bar, with excellent exam results being continually achieved by pupils who have been inspired by previous achievements at St Richard Gwyn.

Students to produce outstanding individual achievements included Joe Mulvey, who attained six A*s and five A grades, and Parisa Hashempour who obtained five A* and three A grades.

Another star of the show was Rianna Price with four A* and five A grades, while Helen Wallis scored four A* and seven A grades.

Hugo Artus gained three A* and six A grades, with Kate Beaumont registering two
A* and six A grades.

Mikaela Hughes earned four A*s and two A grades, Rachel Powell achieved two A* and six A grades and Emma Griffiths celebrated two A* and six A grades.

Amy Shurmer achieved two A* and 7 A grades, while Laura Hibbert, James Davies and Joel Bevan all attained one A*and nine A grades.

Derek Doran, headteacher, said: “Success doesn’t come easy. Students and staff have worked very hard throughout these GCSE courses. I congratulate all of our students for their commitment and dedication.

“They have been rewarded with excellent exam results which they thoroughly deserve. The whole school has once again achieved high standards with 70per cent of our students having achieved at least five higher level A* to C passes and 98per cent of students achieving at least five A* to G passes. We wish them all every success for the future.”
