THE class of 2010 have been in good form at Holywell High School for this year’s GCSE results.

An increase in pupils achieving the level two threshold of five or more GCSEs or equivalent at A* to C saw the tally rise to 50per cent, with this year seeing many other records broken to suggest a best ever results day for the school.

Individuals to stand out included Rebecca Hall and Tom Seel, whose results were all A* or A grades.

Six or more A* or As in their GCSE passes were registered by Katy Dytor, Liam Green, Jack Griffiths, Jack Mackie, Bethan Price, Alice Pepper and Jamie Williams.

John Putt, headteacher, said: “These results are brilliant and they are witness to the hard work and determination of our students who have been incredibly well supported by their teachers and their families.

“I would like to congratulate all our students and thank all staff and parents and carers for their wonderful support.

“This year group has had a really positive focus on their learning and achievement throughout the two years of the GCSE course. I am delighted for all of them but also for our school community and the wider community of Holywell.”

The enrolment process for the sixth form continues tomorrow morning (Wednesday) and all students are encouraged to come into school to receive further help or advice.

Holywell reopens for students on Thursday, September 2.
