A SCHOOL has voiced its pride at the achievements of this year’s GCSE pupils.

John Summers High School is today (Tuesday) celebrating several students excelling in their exams at the Deeside school.

One of the most impressive performances came from Mitchell Griffiths, who achieved 11 GCSEs at higher grades. These included eight A*s or As and three Bs.
Katy Manley also achieved 11 higher grades at mostly B and C level, while Lauren Hassall’s results included two A*s and several B grades.

Another achiever was Amy Roberts, who scored higher grades in all 10 GCSEs she sat.

Headteacher Mohammad Rashud said: “Overall, it has been another pleasing year and I feel proud at the performance of all the pupils, often in difficult situations.

“Everyone of our pupils who have left has gained one or more GCSEs. No-one left without a qualification.

“Of those 70per cent achieved 10 or more GCSE passes, proving that the range of study is outstanding. Also more pupils got Maths and English GCSE higher grades than ever before. There were many outstanding performances.”
