STUDENTS and staff had plenty to celebrate after St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School achieved a 100per cent pass rate in their A-level exams.

The Flint school saw 98per cent of students obtain at least two results at their highest achievable level, and the school was able to celebrate “a significant number” of the new A* grades.

Students who secured notable individual achievements included Samantha Carr, who achieved one A* grade and two A grades; Daniella Hughes with two A* grades and a B grade; Paul Griffiths with three A grades and Charlotte Tully with one A* grade, one A grade and one B grade.

A spokesman for the school said: "Early indications are that all who wish to go to university have been successful and will be reading a range of subjects including medicine, law, physics, mathematics and English from a number of UK universities.

"We wish them all the best for the future after seven successful and rewarding years at St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School."
