A MOOD of celebration is in the air in Saltney today after students collected their A-level results.
Pupils from St David’s High School achieved impressive grades to help move them towards a promising career in higher education.
This year’s overall pass rate is 97per cent, with an almost identical number of students achieving the Welsh Level 3 threshold of two A-levels or equivalent.
Students to stand out included Josh Eaton, who achieved A grades in all his subjects, and Georgia Bold, who registered either an A or a B in all exams.
Tony Davidson, headteacher, said: “I am pleased that the great majority of sixth formers have achieved or exceeded their target grades. Students of all abilities have approached their examinations with considerable energy and determination, and teaching staff have provided excellent support and guidance.
“The results achieved reflect the hard work and dedication which we have seen over the past two years. We are proud of the achievements of all students, particularly Josh Eaton and Georgia Bold
“I congratulate everyone on a job well done and I wish our sixth formers every success as they embark upon the next stages of education or training.”
