A MAN threatened to kill his own baby and stamp on her head, a court was told.

Ryan Jones, 23, also threatened to shoot and stab the friends of his ex-partner Shauna Louise Hannaby.

Wrexham magistrates were told Jones, of Galaxy Grove, Brynteg, threatened to petrol bomb Miss Hannaby’s flat.

At a previous court hearing Jones admitted a charge of harassing Miss Hannaby by making violent threats on March 19 and May 19.

Justin Espie, prosecuting, said Jones and Miss Hannaby ended their 17-month relationship in February.

They had a daughter, now aged eight-months.

Mark Davies, defending said the incidents arose over an argument about child contact.

Mr Espie said there was an agreement that Jones would see his daughter if he had not been drinking alcohol.

He said: “On one occasion he took his daughter home and contacted the victim saying he was not going to return her.

“She also received messages from him to say he was going to petrol bomb her flat and made threats to shoot her friends and stab them.”

Mr Espie said that on May 19 Jones threatened to stamp on his daughter’s head and kill her so he could “get to” Miss Hannaby.

Mr Davies said: “He had received numerous phonecalls of a threatening nature.

There was substantial provocation. His actions on the day were influenced by alcohol.”

Magistrates asked the probation service to prepare a pre-sentence report and said custody could not be ruled out. Jones will be sentenced at Wrexham Magistrates’ Court on August 20.
