A PENSIONER’s long-running battle to stay in her home looks set to continue.

Beryl Larkin, 66, has been told her mobile home in Treuddyn does not have planning consent.

She has just had fines imposed by magistrates substantially reduced but she is being prosecuted again by planning officers.

Mrs Larkin was previously fined £1,800 with £500 costs for failing to comply with a notice to remove her home from the site at Bwthyn Celyn.

But at an appeal at Mold Crown Court Judge Niclas Parry said magistrates had failed to give sufficient regard to her means and reduced the fine to £500 with costs of £100.

The court was told the mobile home was still in place and Flintshire Council was now prosecuting her again through the magistrates’ court.

Mrs Larkin, who has lived in her home for 15 years after she spent her adult life caring for her sick brother, said she was taking further legal advice over what to do.

She said: “I have nowhere to go.

“I don’t have the money to buy anywhere else or to rent.

“I just wish to live the rest of my life there in peace.”

The court was told it was a continuing offence for the caravan to remain in place.

While the authority had various powers, including removing it from the site themselves, they had decided to prosecute her again for a breach of planning control.
