A MAN who harassed a former college acquaintance has been warned he could be jailed if he ever approaches her again.

Kevin Charles Godin-Prior, 56, who first attended court in a full Spiderman outfit, was sentenced to 26 weeks’ custody when he appeared at Flintshire Magistrates’ Court.

The sentence was suspended for two years and he was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and to pay £800 costs.

Magistrates made a restraining order under the Protection of Harassment Act under which he is not to contact Christine Wanda Johnstone, of Mynydd Isa, her partner Peter Lloyd, her daughter Laura Lightfoot or her son-in-law Andrew Lightfoot in any way.

His appeal against the conviction was thrown out at Mold Crown Court and Judge Niclas Parry warned him it would be an extremely serious matter to breach the order because he could be jailed for five years.

The court was told Mrs Johnstone’s life was turned upside down when she and Godin-Prior, a former university friend, got in touch through Friends Reunited on Valentine’s Day.

She left her partner and temporarily went to live with him but she returned home within weeks because of his controlling nature.

Godin-Prior, who does charity work in Manchester dressed as Spiderman, could not stand rejection and started bombarding her with phone calls and text messages the court heard

He then got it into his head that her partner, Peter Henry Lloyd, was holding her captive.

He put up “wanted” posters for Mr Lloyd in houses and pubs around Mynydd Isa, Mold.

Godin-Prior, of Manchester, had denied harassing Mrs Johnstone, Mr Lloyd and her daughter Miss Lightfoot.
