HEROIN, crack cocaine and cannabis worth thousands were uncovered in a drugs swoop.

Police in Wrexham were working in plain clothes on another job when they received a tip-off from the public about the drugs.

They responded quickly to raid an address in the Coed Aben area of Caia Park.

The officer leading the team, Caia Park community beat manager Miles Hanmer said the find made a serious dent in the supply of drugs in the town.

At the address police found 100 mixed bags of heroin and crack cocaine with each bag worth about £20.

They also found cannabis valued at about £500 and cash during the raid on Thursday afternoon.

PC Hanmer praised the member of the public for tipping them off.

He said: “It’s all about working with instant information received from members of the public.

“Officers acted quickly and recovered the goods.

“It’s basically taken all the crack cocaine and heroin off the streets of Wrexham for a day.

“It will disrupt the dealers for quite a few days.”

Two men, one from Wrexham and one from Liverpool, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply cannabis. They were also arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

Both were bailed pending further police enquiries.

The raid was carried out as part of Operation Quack, to target drugs in the area including party drug Mephedrone. (MCAT)

Last month officers raided an address in Smithfield and uncovered a quantity of a class B drug which was suspected to have been MCAT
