A WILDLIFE fan who created a real buzz about her Twitter account has vowed to expand her expertise.

Bumblebee conservationist Amanda Williams, 39, of Greenfield, near Holywell, has been ranked in the top 50 wildlife Twitter accounts by The Guardian newspaper.

Coming in at number 31, Amanda is among good company with the World Wildlife Fund, BBC Springwatch and National Geographic and wildlife expert and former Really Wild Show presenter Chris Packham on the list.

Now she has vowed to keep up the good work and is looking to set up a website and a blog to spread her work.

She said: “I’m always on the lookout for opportunities to spread the word about bees and share advice about how people can help. I’m hoping this recognition from Guardian Eco will help to establish my credibility so that people will be interested to attend my talks locally, and perhaps invite me to be a speaker at group meetings.

“Certainly I’ll be looking to develop a blog and website in the future, and I’ll continue promoting the work of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust and Buglife.”

Twitter is a social networking service allowing users to send and read 140-character text messages known as tweets.

Amanda will be giving a talk at Holywell Library at 10.30am on Monday, July 9 and you can follow her Twitter account at http://twitter.com/helpthebees.
