IT WAS A Humm-dinger of a treat for Daisy Morgan’s 90th birthday.

The dance-loving great-grandmother of three got to ride in a chauffeured Hummer between her Wrexham home and Chester.

The girly party of 14, including her five daughters, six grandchildren and friends, were dropped off at The Chester Grosvenor Hotel & Spa in the city for a spot of afternoon tea.

They were then escorted back home in the Hummer complete with champagne to celebrate the birthday in style.

Granddaughter Angela Jones said: “She has a big party every five years and we thought the big 90 deserved something special.

“It’s a real treat for the 14 of us.”

Angela described her grandmother as “dancing mad” and said: “She’s the life and sole of the party and enjoys us all getting together.

“She loves ballroom dancing.”

Daisy, who lost her husband more than 30 years ago, is also looking forward to another party celebration with family and friends at the War Memorial Club in Wrexham tomorrow. Daughter Kathy Morgan said: “She’s just a lovely lady, everybody loves Daisy and all the kids call her nana Morgan.

“She loves to party, she loves people and her family are very important to her.

“She’s just a wonderful mother.”
