HUNDREDS of supporters had a great time at Belle Vue Park in Wrexham during Nightingale House Hospice’s annual summer fair.

Bathed in glorious sunshine, the event was a scorching success and raised more than £3,700 for the Wrexham hospice.

The fair also featured an It’s a Knockout contest with 10 teams competing for the trophy.

The winners were Acton All Stars from Acton Primary School, who celebrated their third It’s a Knockout win.

There was a variety of stalls and attractions, including a funfair, hula-hooping, face-painting, live entertainment, a ‘sausage sizzle’, circus workshop, bouncy castles, beat the goalie, teddy bears’ picnic, kiddies’ corner and a hospice car raffle.

Laura Parry, community fundraiser at Nightingale House, said: “The summer fair has traditionally been one of the hospice’s most popular and well attended events by the local community.

“It was a fantastic day, and it helped raise a wonderful amount.

“We couldn’t have asked for nicer weather.

“Thanks go to everybody who came along to the fair to support the hospice, to all of our volunteers and stallholders, plus everybody who took part and came along to back the teams in It’s a Knockout, which was so much fun to watch.”
