DIRECT bus services between Brymbo and Wrexham are back on the road following months of disruption

The closure of Queens Road in Brymbo after a landslide made it difficult for bus services to negotiate Green Road.

This led to diversions on the route to Wrexham along the Lodge as well as the introduction of a shuttle service between Brymbo and Pentre Broughton.

Improvement work was undertaken by Wrexham Council at the former railway crossing below Queens Road to create a one-way road which has now been opened from Brymbo to Pentre Broughton.

This has led to the reintroduction of direct Arriva bus services between Brymbo and Wrexham via Pentre Broughton and Brynteg.

Brymbo councillor Paul Rogers said: “Frequent timetable changes are frustrating for residents.

“The decision to resume the original route and change bus times for services 12 and 13 has been taken by Arriva.

“However, the reintroduction of this direct bus service is obviously an improvement and more convenient for passengers.”

He added: “I would urge residents to check the new timetables for Brymbo as there have also been some slight changes to morning and evening services.”

- ELEANOR Burnham, Welsh Liberal Democrat AM for North Wales, has welcomed assurances by Arriva Buses that bus passengers living in Corwen, Cynwyd, Llandrillo and Llandderfel will be provided with a shuttle bus that will connect with the realigned bus service from Wrexham to Barmouth.

She said: “I met with Arriva Buses recently to raise my constituents’ concerns and am pleased that I have been given assurances that passengers living in Corwen, Cynwyd, Llandrillo and Llandderfel will not lose their access to the X94 service and will be able to connect with the Wrexham-Barmouth bus by shuttle bus.”

“There has been considerable concern about this matter and I am pleased that Arriva buses has listened and responded to ensure passengers can still continue to use this service without disruption.”
