OUT-of-work graduates across the region are to be offered free advice to help them secure work.

Glyndwr University’s Graduate Support Day is part of GradStart, a Welsh Assembly Government scheme to help graduates living or studying in Wales.

The event, on Wednesday, June 16, will provide graduates with an opportunity to discuss how to write a top-class CV, how to market themselves to potential employers and where to look for work experience opportunities.

Staff from Glyndwr University’s careers centre will also be available to carry out mock interviews.

Careers adviser Neil Pritchard said: “Finding suitable employment continues to be a concern for hundreds of graduates living in Wales but through accessing advice on careers, interview skills and work experience opportunities, graduates can put themselves one step ahead of the game.

“Graduate Support Day has been set up to really help kickstart their careers and support through GradStart will continue to be offered flexibly following the event.”

The event will take place between 9.30am and 4pm at the university’s Plas Coch site in Wrexham.

It is open to all unemployed or underemployed UK and EU graduates living in Wales.
