TWO sisters are taking on a mammoth challenge after being inspired by a young disabled boy.
Karon Jones, 44, and her sister Michelle Griffiths, 38, from Bagillt, are aiming to walk the 25-mile journey from Llandudno to Prestatyn in aid of the Harley Noble Fund.
Little Harley, four, suffers from a very rare form of cerebral palsy known as schizencephaly which has left him confined to a wheelchair.
His family have launched a fundraising campaign to build a specially-adapted bedroom and wetroom for Harley at their Bagillt home.
After reading the story in the Leader Karon and Michelle decided they wanted to do something to help.
Karon, who works at SG Brickworks at Greenfield Business Centre, said: “We walk together four times a week and once a year we try and take part in a charity walk.
“We saw the article about Harley in the Leader so I rang up Harley’s mum Christina to ask her if she would like us to help her raise some funds.”
The keen walkers will trek via Rhos-on-Sea and Old Colwyn. They are hoping to raise about £1,000. Karon is appealing for businesses to sponsor T-shirts for the walk bearing the slogan “Walking for Harley”.
