TWO of TV’s biggest stars drew crowds on a visit to Wrexham.

Homer and Bart Simpson swapped the Kwik-E Mart in Springfield for Eagles Meadow yesterday.

News of the father and son team’s appearance at the shopping centre spread like wildfire and crowds grew quickly.

Among the young fans who were pleased to see the pair were Courtney and Milan Redmond, aged six and four.

The pair from Llay were at Eagles Meadow with grandmother Yvonne Alsop.

Yvonne said: “They really like to watch The Simpsons on television and were delighted at the opportunity to meet Bart. It has been very exciting for them and made their day.”

First in the queue to meet loveable rogue Bart was Louis Gilliland, 10, of Mold, Flintshire. The Bryn Coch School pupil said: “I love the Simpsons and Bart is my favourite character – he is so funny.”

Also thrilled to meet up with Bart was Tomos Garston, seven, of Johnstown, who attends the village school. Tomos said: “Bart always makes me laugh, he says really funny things and is a bit naughty.”

Ysgol Bodhyfryd pupil, Layla Braisdell, six, of Wrexham met Bart along with her younger brother Joshua. Layla said: “It was great to meet him and give him a cuddle. He is my dad’s favourite. Mine is Lisa.”

A few drops of rain on the day certainly didn’t put sisters Carly, four, and Katie Roberts off as they waited patiently for their favourite character Homer.

Katie, five, who attends Hafod y Wern School said she thought her dad would be very jealous. She said: “It was brilliant. I love the Simpsons, they are funny and we like to watch them with mum and dad.”
